My critique is on my classmate's blog, "Make America Blog Again". I am not sure if they are a she or he because they did not provide a name! I have to say, it was my first time ever reading their blog, and I am kinda bummed that I have missed their blog all semester because I like the way they think and what they write about. In their blog 7, he/she writes a critique about another classmate's blog, "A Closer Look at our Fealess Leaders", by Jordan Call. From there I also checked out Jordan's blog, and I am also bummed that I never checked out his blog as well because he too is a very interesting writer with a blunt style which I love! My classmate's thoughts on Jordan is actually how I feel about Jordan's comments on carrying guns at school...how the f*@^ will guns at school promote a "safer" environment when all it does is bring more terror for students!

Juanita Jean's blog is by far one of the realest, most entertaining, funniest, political blog I have yet came across! In her post titled, The ACTUAL Problem for this New President", she refers' President-elect Donald Trump as "Cheeto Jesus". She describes Cheeto Jeusus to be "bullying, bloviating, bitchy, baboonish, banal buffoon is manifestly unqualified to occupy the oval office", but yet him as a "business man" is the REAL problem! Cheeto Jesus has proclaimed that he put "his" "business" in a "blind trust", ran by his children while he is in office. However, that is not considered as a blind trust when you still are in ties with the trustees. Juanita really shows her skeptical side on her blog when trump is involved, and I LOVE IT because everything she says is right on!

A "boiling notice" isn't anything new to hear, but a water ban is. According to Caller-Times Newspaper of Corpus Chrisiti, City officials has issued a water ban due to complaints about "dirty water". Thursday, December 15, 2016, the city of Corpus Christi received a call about what contaminated the water and where the source came from. City officials has assign the responsibility on Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions, Inc. Valero for contaminating the water with Indulin AA-86, an oil-based petroleum that was released from one of their terminals. The city has recommended the city to use bottled water for all water needs, including washing hands. Local schools have even been closed today, Friday, December 16th, 2016 to ensure that all residents are keeping safe.

I am writing in response to my colleague Larisa's post, "Election Day Voter Registration". In her post, she mentions that 13 other states participate in same-day voting, while Texas does not; but rather, more of a difficult process for people to show up and cast in their vote. She made some great valid points that made me question why voting isn't easier for us to participate in, like why do we still keep those old bulking machines around, and why is election day always on a work day...
I really enjoyed reading her post because it not only was a very important topic to read on, but also, she kept me engaged all throughout til the end! Great job girl!!

In continuation to the topic I presented on Wednesday, I would like to add an update that may bring more ears to the table. To remind you all on what I presented on, I talked about how the Austin DNA lab had closed this past June due to a number of issues. Not only has the closing affected those who await in jail; but also, the solution to this situation may cause a problem for all taxpayers here in Austin. Katie Hall of American-Statesman covers more in detail on the costs it may take in her post, "Gaffes at Austin DNA lab could cost taxpayers up to $14 million".
She talks about how the lab closed because of mishandling of DNA tests which has led officials question about any wrongful convictions. Now, all of those tests need to be retested. Katie includes different cost options, both of which will result in a significant rise in taxes. On the higher end, it will cost up to $14 million to retest all of the DNA samples. That cost does not include for any further work that needs to be done, just to cover for the damage. I think this article is important for everyone to read and be aware of...I personally question why the citizens of Austin will be punished for the lab's mistakes!Thursday, December 8, 2016
-1 vote Trump
Name-calling seems to never come to an end no matter how old or whom ever the person is. Robert Wilonsky, of the Dallas Morning News, writes about the the negative attention Chris Suprum has been getting lately in his post "Texas elector Chris Suprun talks about becoming an 'a-word' just because he won't vote for Trump". Suprum, a Texas elector has publicly announced that he will not be voting President elect-Donald Trump on December 19th. Since then, he has been called a "traitor," "idiot," "a disgrace to Texas," "another corrupt establishment dirt bag," and the list goes on. He also has been told if he does not vote for Trump he will be "chased out of Texas". Suprum thought however, back in August, that he could have voted for Trump, but he now feels uncomfortable voting for him due to Trump not coming around and being presidential after the general election. Suprum has questioned why Trump still has not released his tax returns, how there isn't an evidence on the 3 million illegal votes, and still is a Twitter fanatic after the elections...we should question too!
